Vistive is a new range of healthy oils produced from oilseed rape bred by Monsanto.

The public, and increasingly food manufacturers, are demanding a healthier, and more processor friendly oil than those currently available. To meet these demands Monsanto has made significant research and development investment to produce the first Vistive winter oilseed rape varieties to become commercially available in the UK.

Vistive offers a much improved oil quality than currently available. It is the result of a 16 year breeding programme for the UK and European market. The varieties have a High Oleic, Low Linolenic (HOLL) fatty acid oil profile. This profile removes the need for hydrogenation of the oil used to bring stability and improve shelf life of frying oils. The hydrogenation process produces Trans Fatty Acids which have been associated with the build up of bad cholesterol and other negative health effects. Given the new healthy profile of Vistive oil, it is a perfect non-hydrogenated oil solution for frying and other food uses.
